Social Media Platforms (such as Instagram and Model Mayhem) are the easiest and safest way for photographers to cast for any project they may be seeking a model for. Long-gone are the days of answering shady Craigslist ads for modeling; now, portfolios and reputations are fully on display online for anyone in the industry (or even the general public, in most cases) to check out before deciding who they would like to hire.
In what I like to refer to as the "Little League" of modeling, we are modeling for local photographers, not well-known fashion designers, thus we do not actually go on traditional casting calls or "go-sees" like models in the high fashion and commercial genres do.
